Hide volumes icon from desktop kali linux and Ubuntu

In this tutorial I will show you how to hide mounted volume icon from desktop. If you have more volumes you desktop will be full of volumes icon. So i know it something related to desktop and i also know about “gsettings” command. Watch the video for more details how i have done this hack. After watching this video you can also hide computer icon, trash etc, try to do experiment.

        Commands used in this video:

  • gsettings list-schemas | grep -i desktop
  • gsettings list-keys org.gnome.nautilus.desktop
  • gsettings get org.gnome.nautilus.desktop volumes-visible
  • gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.desktop volumes-visible false
    To hide the mounted volume icon
  • gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.desktop volumes-visible true
    To unhide the volumes icon
